Lauren and Andrés Santo Domingo’s Jackson Hole ski house redefines the concept of a mountain retreat, eschewing traditional chalet tropes in favor of a modernist, mid-century-inspired aesthetic. Lauren, co-founder of Moda Operandi and artistic director of Tiffany Home, collaborated with AD100 designer Andre Mellone to create a cozy yet sophisticated haven that merges rusticity with contemporary design principles.

Key design elements include natural wood hand-finished throughout, a modernist brick chimney inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, and a focus on clean lines and rich textures. Drawing on references from Viennese Secession, mid-century modern influences from France, Brazil, and Scandinavia, and 1970s Italian design, the home balances historic inspiration with contemporary sensibilities. A curated palette of unexpected color and texture combinations reflects Lauren’s fashion expertise, while practical features like built-in bunk beds and a fully equipped spa ensure the home is as functional as it is stylish.

Situated at the base of Jackson Hole’s legendary ski terrain, the house embodies a refined yet unpretentious look that transitions seamlessly between winter and summer activities. The Santo Domingos’ vision ultimately embraced subtle nods to traditional ski lodge elements, proving that thoughtful design evolves naturally with its surroundings.
